I was born and adopted from Colombia as a baby. I grew up conservative thanks to my adoptive father who traveled all over South America for work. He saw countries fall to socialism- destroying these once prosperous countries. This is happening right now in Loudoun County. Progressives have highjacked our Board of Supervisors and School Board- bringing their socialist ideology to our county. It's time to step up and stop them before they destroy our county the way their woke socialist ideology have destroyed other counties and cities across the country. Loudoun needs new Leadership NOW.
I have lived in Loudoun my whole life; 34 years and I have seen my home grow from small town suburbia to one of the fastest growing counties in the country. I love my home and we are moving in the wrong direction. Current Board of Supervisor members want to turn my home into the new Tysons Corner with density packing and high-rise complexes. This will bring in more traffic and higher taxes down the road to pay for county resources like schools, and Fire & Rescue services. We need a healthy balance of residential and commercial that won’t overwhelm our county. People come to Loudoun for the safe family friendly suburbs. We need to keep it that way and that means working with both developers and residents to find common ground. We need smart balanced growth.
Being a single mom, my sole focus was to provide for my girls. I started my own small business working as a private lesson music teacher teaching strings. I networked with local Loudoun County Public School music teachers who would recommend me to their students and I built a reputation as a successful strings teacher in Loudoun. Rising cost in living and taxes is not good for any business owner in Loudoun whether it’s a small or large business. The tax rates are not being reduced enough and the assessments for property keep going up- not giving relief to anyone. We want to keep Loudoun business friendly and that starts with new leadership.
I went to Leesburg Elementary and grew up in a county where the school system was focused on academics and considered one of the best school systems in the country. I was ready to send my girls to Leesburg Elementary. Unfortunately, Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) made national headlines for all the wrong reasons and I had no choice but to send my girls to the private school where I work.
The county that prided itself on top notch schools has now become the laughing stock of the country. It has only gotten worse due to the failings of an incompetent School Board and Board of Supervisors who care more about woke policies than the safety of students. I plan to always put students first and focus on making LCPS back into the school system I grew up in- one that focused on academics and merit from hard work and determination; a school system that fully funds our teachers and staff and does not waste money on woke programs like DEI, Equity and the Sexualization of our children.
